The Brisbane group started
in February 1997 with its first public meeting at Wavell RSL with
about 70 turning up. From there, the group continued with a core of
about a dozen men and their partners, meeting in Peter Dornan’s
physiotherapy rooms once a month for about two years. As the group’s
numbers grew, the group enlisted the support of The Cancer Council
Queensland to enable it to manage the logistics of large numbers for
meetings.
Contact is maintained with
past and current members through a monthly news-sheet distributed
with the Queensland Chapter newsletter. We offer a broad range of
support for newly diagnosed men and their families, as well as those
who sustain an interest in learning about developments in diagnosis
and treatment protocols.
