Formation:

The Bundaberg group was formed in November 2000 and has been functioning continuously since that date. Meetings are held at the Family Centre in the Bundaberg Showgrounds on the 4th Thursday of each month. Morning tea is available from 9.00am with the meeting commencing at 10.00am. The average attendance at meetings is between 50 to 60. The group is dedicated to promoting awareness of Prostate Cancer and the need for early diagnosis. They offer support and understanding to newly diagnosed men as well as men receiving treatment or who have undergone treatment for this disease.

There is also an active Ladies Support Group who meets on the 1st Thursday of each month in the Cancer Council Qld. Office diagonally opposite the Mater Hospital. Wives and partners of men suffering from or who are having treatment for Prostate Cancer are offered support and are made to feel most welcome. Details of these meeting can be obtained by phoning (07)4151 0746.

A call to your local Prostate Cancer Support Group or attendance at a Support Group Meeting will put you in touch with men who have personally experienced the various treatments available.
