Formation:

In response to a community need, our Group was established to provide support to men, their partners and their families who have experienced prostate health problems with emphasis on diagnosed Prostate Cancer. Our mission is to provide support, information and encouragement to those seeking an association with and sharing like experiences. The Group actively promotes community awareness and understanding of Prostate Cancer and its impacts.

Activities:

Our Group meets each last Thursday of the month (except December/January) @ 1.30 p.m. for 2 p.m. start. Such meetings last an hour and half followed by afternoon tea. Meeting venue is Orchid Room of R.S.L. Club, 217 Mary Street Gympie. An invited speaker providing information relating to Prostate Cancer usually addresses each meeting. Time is made available for individuals to confidentially address their concerns. Partners and the community are most welcome to attend. Informality is a feature of our meetings. Wheel chair access is available.

We have a variety of books, brochures and pamphlets relating to prostate cancer available.

Contact is welcome from men recently diagnosed and contemplating treatment options. Contact with Support Group members can be arranged.

Our Group participates in community activities and events to encourage men to be proactive in managing their health.

Meeting information is provided on the Statewide Activities page.
