Formation:
The Mackay Support Group was
formed by Daryl Hyland with the assistance of Dr. S. Bandi
(Urologist), after Darryl was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. The
first meeting was held on 1st July 2000, with approximately 25
persons attending.
The Group’s mailing list
currently consists of 185 members who have been through the Support
Group. Many members attend regular meetings and others come along
when they feel they need reassurance. Meeting numbers now average
between 40 & 50, including partners or family members.
