This group commenced in 1996 with Pam Ludowici (then Cancer Support Group manager) and Jim Rae, Consumer. The Support Group was affiliated with the prostate support group organisation “US TOO” which originated in the USA. We later became an independent unit until the PCFA was formed as the umbrella for all prostate cancer support groups.

Information and emotional support have been the focus of the Centre since its inception.

Contact is maintained with consumers, carers, families and medical professionals through our Newsletter which is published every four to six weeks.

Meeting dates and speakers are advised in the December issue for the upcoming year and confirmed by the first Newsletter publication in the New Year.

Newsletters are posted or emailed direct. Each evening presentation is recorded and is available on DVD and can be borrowed through our extensive Library at Jacaranda Lodge.

Our meetings are held in the Rotary Room of Jacaranda Lodge which is a purpose built Cancer Support Centre featuring accommodation facilities, meeting rooms and Library. Support services include counselling, education lectures, support group meetings, reflexology/massage and an extensive library with books, brochures and leaflets on prostate cancer and surviving cancer.

All are welcome (free of charge) to attend!

The building is located to the southern rear side of the Hospital at 185 Fox Valley Road, Wahroonga, NSW, 2076.

Access by main entrance of the Hospital. There is a nominal parking charge of $3.

Meeting dates:

2nd Monday afternoon at 2.30 for 3pm (group meeting)
4th Monday night at 7pm (medical professional presentation)
