The Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club (SICYC) is looking forward to another record gathering for their notorious Rendezvous 2017. Over 280 yachts are expected to sail into the Gloucester Passage in the Whitsundays for the annual Rendezvous on 24 - 27 August. 1,500 people are expected to attend over the four days with visitors coming from all states of Australia, USA, and New Zealand.

The club started in 2009 with a modest membership of 34. It now reaches 14 countries and over 3,700 members ('vice commodores') and is arguably the fastest growing 'virtual' yacht club in the world. Members of the SICYC enjoy access to a growing community across Australia, and discounts from sponsor organisations while supporting an important cause.

PCFA was chosen as a cause for the club to support because of the relevance to members in the 45 - 75 year old age bracket, many of whom know someone affected by the disease.

The SICYC 'Vice Commodore' Rendezvous in August every year is now the largest yacht participation event in the Whitsunday region.
