A potential new drug for advanced prostate cancer discovered in plants

Researchers from Cold Spring Harbor in the USA have discovered a natural compound that kills prostate cancer cells in mice. This product is made by some plants in the legume family, as a defence against insects. Although more research is necessary before the drug can be trialled in humans, it’s a promising new approach for treating advanced prostate cancer.
