Prostate cancer occurs in some women. There is little information on the incidence of prostate cancer in women, but there are at least 10 documented cases of prostate cancer in women who are transgender. These are people who feel like a woman, but have been born in a man’s body. Prostate cancer in these women is quite rare, but it’s often caught too late. This week’s blog asks how women get prostate cancer and what are the barriers to them accessing help.
