Members of the Moreton Bay Support Group recently heard from Associate Professor David McFarlane, an experienced nuclear medicine physician and Coordinator of Theranostics at North Lakes ICON Cancer Centre.

Mr McFarlane delivered a presentation on how theranostics, n emerging field of nuclear medicine that combines testing with treatment for prostate cancers, is changing the way we detect and treat the disease in Australia and across the world.

“We are so lucky to have many active members up here in the Moreton Bay region, said Group Leader Peter Ham.

“Around 50 people attended to listen to Associate Professor David Macfarlane tell everyone all about theranostics treatment. It was just fantastic!

“We also had a gentleman come to the meeting for the first time and he got up and spoke about why he came and his journey so far. A few excellent outcomes and a fantastic meeting.”

The Group run regular meetings and guest speaker events, in addition to social activities for men and their partners in the Moreton Bay region and surrounds.
