15 April 2026

First introduced at Ormiston College in 2023, The Clip was launched by Year 12 boys inspired by the College’s long-standing girls’ initiative, The Chop, and a desire to shine a light on men’s health issues – particularly prostate cancer, the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia.

Since its inauguration, the event has quickly become a meaningful annual tradition, uniting students, staff and the wider community in support of Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA).

In 2026, The Clip continues to grow in strength and impact. A group of 36 Year 12 boys have committed to taking part, collectively aiming to raise $25,000.

With $22,080 already raised, the students will take part in the highly anticipated buzz cut on 22 April 2026, demonstrating courage, compassion and leadership in action.

What began as a small, student‑led initiative has evolved into a flagship Service Leadership event at the College, marked by growing participation, stronger fundraising outcomes and deeper community engagement each year.

Students now actively lead awareness efforts, encourage open conversations about men’s health and proudly champion a cause that directly affects so many families.

“This initiative is incredibly meaningful for both our students and our community,” a school spokesperson said.

“It gives young men the opportunity to stand for something bigger than themselves, to lead with purpose and to see the real‑world impact of their actions.”

Student response remains overwhelmingly positive, with participants expressing pride in contributing to a cause that saves lives while challenging stigma around men’s health.

The event reinforces the values of empathy, service and social responsibility that sit at the heart of the Ormiston College culture.

To other schools and communities considering a similar initiative, the message is clear: meaningful change starts with a simple idea and the courage to act. When young people are empowered to lead with heart, the impact can extend far beyond the school gates.

With momentum continuing to build, Ormiston College looks forward to once again standing alongside PCFA and making a lasting difference through The Clip 2026.
