Which is best: surgery, radiotherapy or active surveillance?

Each year, ASCO publishes Clinical Cancer Advances, describing the most promising cancer research advances of the previous 12 months. Clinical Cancer Advances 2017 includes a prostate cancer section describing the ProtecT trial. This study compared outcomes for three treatment options for localised prostate cancer: surgery, radiotherapy and active surveillance.
