Fundraising is off to a SUPER start for STM’s Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia partnership at this weekend’s LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12-Hour, with Supercheap Auto contributing $20,000 towards the #GetChecked campaign, which aims to remind men to get checked for the deadly disease.

The STM (Scott Taylor Motorsport) team will be spearheaded again this year by Supercars and Motorsport Hall of Fame legend, Craig Lowndes OAM, alongside Scott Taylor, Alex Davison, and Geoff Emery.

The 12 Hour endurance race will be held in Bathurst this week, commencing Friday, 3 February with the once-around-the-clock race run on Sunday.

This year’s event is anticipated to be the largest, with the return of the biggest national and international drivers and manufactures competing for endurance racing glory at the iconic Mount Panorama circuit.

The STM #222 Mercedes-AMG GT3 entry will be decked out in green and black, with the white Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia logo adorning the doors and bonnet. The #GetChecked also features on the car, a campaign which encourages men to get checked for the deadly disease.

“Supercheap Auto are proud to support the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, Craig Lowndes and Scott Taylor Motorsport with a $20,000 donation towards their fundraising efforts at the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

“The #GetChecked initiative is a great reminder for all men to have regular health check-ups and support the overall objective of men beating prostate cancer.

“We look forward to supporting the PCFA and STM crew this weekend at the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.”

Craig Lowndes OAM

“I am excited to be heading back to Mount Panorama with good mates for a great cause,” said Lowndes, who is also twice an outright winner of the Bathurst 12 Hour (in 2014 and 2017).

“Prostate Cancer has unfortunately impacted my family. So, running a car in support of PCFA is a chance for us to have the conversation about getting checked, raising funds and having a red-hot go at the podium.”

“We are tremendously proud to partner with Supercheap Auto and STM to drive with Craig Lowndes and his team for awareness.

“Over 24,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in Australia each year, and many of them are motorsports fans.
