Congratulations to all those involved on another successful event, particular thanks to Elizabeth Allen OAM who took the lead in coordinating.

The conference sees rural and regional Prostate Cancer Support Groups of New South Wales combine for an informative weekend. Leaders and members of Affiliated Support Groups across the region come together with the general community to learn from a range of expert speakers on a variety of helpful topics including:

  • Representatives from PCFA, Cancer Council, Continence Foundation of Australia, Macquarie Homestay and Western Local Health District
  • Lindy Ostini, Orange Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse
  • Dr Dane Holden, General Surgeon on skin lesions
  • Dr Bala Indrajit, Urologist on latest treatment options for prostate cancer
  • Dr Philip Katelaris, Urologist on bladder and sexual rehabilitation
  • Camila Kenny, on suicide prevention
  • Professor Warwick Delprado, on prostate pathology
  • Dr Florian Honeyball, Medical Oncologist
  • Dr Caroline Round, Radiation Oncologist

PCFA CEO, Jeff Dunn, and new member to the Support & Community Outreach team, Nikola Ellis, were thrilled to have an opportunity to connect with so many from our Network and extremely impressed with how the event came together. This is what those who attended had to say:

"Great presenters, very informative, very interesting talking to other groups, interaction at meal times and food very good. Dubbo the ideal location, full marks to the organising committee"

“A very informative and enjoyable weekend"

"Excellent Conference"

The event was last held in 2016, with the organising committee locking in dates for the next conference to occur on 30th April – 2nd May 2021. We look forward to sharing further details as planning progresses.
