Menz FruChocs are turning blue for prostate cancer
South Australia’s beloved FruChocs are turning blue for a cause, with Menz FruChocs partnering with Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for prostate cancer research.
PCFA is Australia’s leading community-based organisation for prostate cancer research, awareness, and support. They are dedicated to reducing the impact of the disease on Australian men and their families, through innovative research, support services and awareness.
The iconic orange FruChocs bag is getting a bright blue makeover, with $1 from every limited-edition pack sold donated directly to PCFA.
Sure, it’s a new look. But inside? Still the same choc-coated apricot goodness South Aussies have been sneaking from the pantry since 1948.
By partnering with PCFA, Menz aims to raise awareness and much needed funds for prostate cancer research.
1 in 5 Australian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime and nearly 4,000 men will lose their battle every year. While age is the major risk factor for prostate cancer, having a family history can increase the risk of early onset prostate cancer. It’s important to be aware of changes to your body at any age and to get checked. Early diagnosis and intervention saves lives yet too many men delay seeking advice. This campaign aims to change that.
By promoting prostate cancer awareness in supermarket aisles and local retailers, Menz FruChocs wants to spark and normalise conversations around men’s health and encourage men to take proactive steps when it comes to getting checked. Turning blue is a bold move but one FruChocs is proud to make in support of a cause that matters.
“We’re incredibly proud to partner with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia on a campaign that encourages important conversations while supporting a cause that impacts so many Australian families.”
“As a proudly South Australian and family-owned business, this partnership feels like a natural fit for us, bringing people together over a product they love, while helping raise awareness for men’s health.” Said Robern Menz CEO, Phil Sims.
Chairman of PCFA, Adjunct Associate Professor Steve Callister AM, says the partnership will save lives and strengthen support for men.
“Together, through partnership and generosity, we are bringing hope to those who need it most, and we are deeply grateful for your support in the fight against this disease.”
From Monday 15 June, shoppers will be able to find blue FruChocs bags in retailers across South Australia, including Woolworths, Coles and IGA’s.
Same FruChocs. Different bag. Bigger conversation.
