Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) is proud to recognise and thank Suncorp Group for its generous support of Australian men and families impacted by prostate cancer through the 2025 Spirit to Cure program.
Suncorp’s commitment will help PCFA continue delivering life-changing support services, funding world-class research, and raising awareness of the importance of early detection for Australia’s most commonly diagnosed cancer.
Each year, nearly 29,000 Australian men are diagnosed with prostate cancer, and nearly 4,000 will die from the disease. Men living in regional and rural communities face an even greater burden, with significantly higher mortality rates compared with men living in metropolitan areas.
PCFA Head of Operations, Mitch Witherington, said partnerships like Spirit to Cure help strengthen PCFA’s ability to deliver meaningful support to men and families when they need it most.
“Community support and corporate partnerships play a critical role in helping PCFA deliver practical support services, improve awareness, and invest in better outcomes for Australian men,” he said.
“We are incredibly grateful to Suncorp for standing alongside Australian men and helping us continue this important work.”
PCFA Southern Regions Community Engagement Manager, Linley Watson, said the partnership would help strengthen awareness and support across Tasmania.
“Prostate cancer impacts families right across Australia, including many regional communities throughout Tasmania where access to services can be more challenging,” she said.
“Support through programs like Spirit to Cure helps us connect more men and families with trusted information, specialist support services, and the encouragement to have potentially life-saving conversations about early detection.”
The Spirit to Cure initiative highlights the power of community and corporate leadership in driving meaningful change for people affected by cancer.
Through partnerships like this, PCFA can continue investing in research breakthroughs, improving access to care and support services, and encouraging Australian men to speak with their doctor about prostate cancer risk and testing.
