Overview
We hold an Information Night monthly (February-November) on the 3rd Thursday of the month commencing at 7:00pm at the Griffith Southside Leagues Club on the corner of 2 Bridge St and Jondaryan Ave Griffith NSW 2680. Enter the club and look for our banner and the little blue men figurines.
We prefer to call them Information Nights because we focus on sharing experiences and knowledge; and providing information, support, and strategies whether you are recently diagnosed, undergoing treatment, or living with prostate cancer.
We encourage women and family members to also attend - with or without your man.
We generally start with a guest speaker or discussion on an aspect of prostate cancer, side-effects, and allied issues. Recently they have included mental health, continence, sexual dysfunction, an oncology dietician, and oncology social worker and a clinical nurse specialist.
The second part of the information session is an in-confidence, open-floor, round table discussion driven by members.
The night finishes with a light supper and a chance for personal discussion if you feel uneasy discussing your issue in an open forum.
We provide a range of information to take away from various sources including: PCFA, Services NSW (eg: IPTAAS,), Continence Australia, Bins4Blokes.
We provide guest speakers to community and professional groups and toolbox talks in the Griffith region and surrounds, as well as information stands at shows and field days.
