A hot summer’s day didn’t dampen the spirits of the Redland Bays Cancer Support Group, who recently got together for their annual Christmas lunch at Elysium Restaurant Café and Bar.

The food was delicious, the cheer was infectious and the service impressive, remarked those who attended the function.

The Redland Bays Cancer Support Group started in late 2021 to support men across the region dealing with all forms of cancer.

The Group’s formation coincided with the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, which took a toll on group members and their capacity to meet in person - but members are grateful to have come out the other side.

“We really did enjoy ourselves and it was great to get together and have all of our partners there as well, to celebrate what was a pivotal year for our group,” said Richard Tetley, Group Secretary.

“Despite the rocky beginnings we are through the worst of it and really starting to make an impact on the community at large.

“We’ve come along leaps and bounds in 2023 and would like to continue the good cheer in 2024 with the hope of increasing our membership overall, and we are thankful for the ongoing support we’ve received from Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia."

Congratulations to Richard and the members of Redland Bays Cancer Support Group for their determination. We look forward to the continued positive impacts for men and their loved ones in the Redlands.
