Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) and Tyrepower have teamed up in the fight against prostate cancer. PCFA and Tyrepower over the next 12 months will work together to raise awareness of prostate cancer with the overall aim of saving the lives of more men with prostate cancer, the most common diagnosed cancer in Australia.

Prostate cancer accounts for 30% of all cancer diagnoses in males with over 20,000 men diagnosed each year. Sadly, it kills 3,300 men each year - devastating statistics which Tyrepower wants to help change.

Major issues are the low level of awareness historically of prostate cancer, the lack of understanding of this health issue and the lack of knowledge about the information available.

Together Tyrepower and PCFA will deliver powerful material reminders in public washrooms around the country with the overall goal to build awareness and to educate and inform both men and women on the resources and support available through PCFA.

With the aim of improving men's help seeking behaviours, the campaign will feature A4 posters and takeaway cards placed in public conveniences right across Australia targeting both men over age 40 and women as influencers.

Associate Professor Anthony Lowe, PCFA Chief Executive Officer is delighted to be partnering with Tyrepower on this important awareness campaign.

"Prostate cancer is the second most common cause of male cancer deaths and the fourth most common cause of male deaths overall." said Associate Professor Lowe. "So, it's wonderful to have the support of Tyrepower to help us raise awareness of this major male health issue in the community."

Tyrepower CEO David Wilson is delighted to put his business' support behind the fight against prostate cancer.

"Men's health issues are often not as recognised or publicised as they should be, and we hope we can help change that with Tyrepower's support of this campaign.

"Tyrepower certainly knows a bit about male behaviour through our day-to-day business, so we are pleased to be able to bring that knowledge and our support to the great work done by PCFA."
